Mark Dawkins, N4CMD, has been hard at work diagnosing and resolving some issues with the repeater.
A crackling/static had been noticed.
After poking, prodding, and with the assistance of Butch, N4AWP, Mark found and replaced a bad jumper in the setup.
After replacing the jumper, both transmit and receive have been cleaner, extending and clarifying the repeater experience.
Rob, K4PDR, has been conversationally clean into the repeater on his HT from kitchen while cooking ribs, baked beans and mac and cheese. Mike, KA4AMP, has been cleaner than ever on his mobile from the campus of UNC Pembroke.
Mark, N4CMD, was kind enough to send along some photos of our repeater. The top image shows the power supply and Motorola MTR 2000 repeater. The bottom image shows four canisters that make up the duplexer that allows the repeater to receive and transmit simultaneously.
More exciting repeater updates are on the way as soon as the custom jumper cable arrives.
